Xbox Release Window and Platform Availability

AETHUS launches on Microsoft consoles in Q1 2027, confirmed by solo developer Pawsmonaut Games and publishing partner Making Port. The console rollout covers Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Microsoft Store on Windows. Making Port, an established porting studio based in Castellón de la Plana, manages the technical conversion and distribution, aligning the release alongside the version for ps5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

The store listing is active for players to wishlist the game on Xbox hardware. Alongside the console launch, the title adds French, German, and Spanish text localizations, which developer Alex Kane confirmed will arrive on PC editions simultaneously.

Technical Specifications on Xbox Series X|S

The official Xbox Store data lists hardware-specific features for current-generation systems. Xbox Series X|S versions deliver 4K Ultra HD output running at 60 fps or higher. Single-player campaigns integrate Xbox cloud saves and Xbox achievements, enabling seamless data backup across connected hardware.

In addition to standard gamepad input, the Xbox edition includes console keyboard and mouse support. Players wanting traditional desktop control schemes can attach peripherals directly to their console to handle outpost assembly and inventory organization.

Controller Adaptations and Interface Overhauls

Adapting deep mining and crafting systems to living room consoles led Making Port to overhaul the control architecture. Menu navigation, refining queues, and equipment crafting have been rebuilt to match the speed and convenience of mouse inputs. PC users utilizing controller support or playing on steam deck will receive these upgraded controller layouts in companion updates.

Co-founder Marco Domingo of Making Port noted that the console rework prioritizes couch comfort, combining redesigned analog stick behavior with enhanced visual clarity on 4K displays.

Exploration, Base Building, and Game Modifiers

The Xbox release delivers the full narrative campaign centering on Maeve, a former Astral Resource Corporation (ARC) mining engineer carving out an independent claim. Alongside her drone companion Roland, voiced with Scottish accents, Maeve investigates subterranean ruins left by an ill-fated research expedition.

Surface construction enables pioneers to build modular bases, process extracted minerals, and cultivate crops inside a hydroponic bed. The title features zero combat encounters, microtransactions, or early access phases. Players seeking personalized pacing can use in-game modifiers to set their best difficulty profile, adjusting environmental demands at any stage of play.
